Enhance your art practice in inspiring and unique ways. Join me for an exciting three day exploration into the world of botanical printmaking and collage; accessible art forms whether you’re a newcomer or seasoned artist. On the first day, we’ll layer lines, leaves and colors on a Gelli plate in order to create a series of beautiful and unique hand printed collage papers. The following day, we’ll immerse ourselves in the world of botanical contact printing (also called eco-printing), using natural plant pigments to create a group of evocative images on paper. On the third day, we’ll pull it all together, incorporating handcrafted collage papers with archival collage techniques, to create expressive and engaging works of art.

*Whidbey Island is a magical place in which to relax, restore and enjoy art making in the company of other artists.

Light and Shadow: An Art, Yoga and Meditation Workshop
October 28, 10 am - 2 pm
Hendrickx Farm, Davis, CA
$80, includes materials

Waterlogue-2018-08-25-11-30-16.jpg

Our art and yoga trial balloon last month was a great success; we spent a wonderful day with 9 women, creating collage papers, finding flow in yoga and creating brightly patterned collages. There's a synergy that takes place when you combine art and yoga. Our preconceived notions about our ability to make art to dissolve as we absorb ourselves in breathwork, yoga postures and meditation. We're so excited that we've planned 2 more workshops this year. Each workshop will have a different theme and completely different art, yoga and meditation practices. Our workshop in October will take place just before Halloween where we'll explore that point where light and shadow meet.
.
This workshop will be limited to 8 lovely souls so let me know as soon as possible if you'd like to join us? Just email me at: hkhunterarts@gmail.com.

Harvesting our Gifts: An Art & Yoga Workshop
Sunday, August 12, 10 am - 2 pm
Hendrickx Farm, Davis, CA

images 1.50.07 PM.jpg

I've long wanted to teach a workshop that combines my love of art, art therapy and yoga. I finally have all the components: a place to make art and practice yoga and a yoga teacher. My friend, Pam Peterson, has offered her home as a location. Pam owns Hendrickx Farms, a beautiful 8.5 acre farm with gardens and a light and spacious interior.

I'm teaming up with Khara Strum, a gifted yoga teacher and healer. We are offering a delicious mix of heart opening yoga, a short guided meditation and lots of time to spread out and dive deep into art. This month we'll focus on our theme "harvest" and working in collage and mixed media.

"Harvest" is our trial balloon and we're offering the class for $25 to cover the cost of materials. The workshop size is limited to 6 lovely souls, so let me know as soon as possible if you'd like to join us! Just click the blue button below to register.

Whole Hearted Living: A Series of Art Therapy Workshops /Wellness Within; cancer support services / wednesday, October 25th, 10 am - 4 pm

Attachment-1(2).jpeg

What is wholehearted living? Author Brene Brown has identified 10 guideposts that help us to open our hearts and let our big, juicy, life back in. Taken together, these guideposts offer a set of prompts that allow us to actively cultivate these qualities in our lives. In an exciting series of art therapy workshops, we’ll explore each of Brene Brown’s 10 guideposts to wholehearted living* through art journaling, printing, collaging, painting and more. We’ll share with each other and create practices that incorporate these guideposts in easy and practical ways. This month we’ll be exploring Guidepost #7: “Cultivating laughter, song, and dance."
