Collage Makers Summit

Collage Maker's Summit:
A Series of 10 Online Workshops

Hosted by Drew Steinbrecher

Earlier last fall, I received an invitation from artist Drew Steinbrecher to take part in a collage maker's summit. Drew envisioned a melange of mediums, methods and artists from different parts of the globe, all of us connecting through collage. He gathered 9 other collage artists to teach, each of whom has created a workshop with their particular stamp and personality.

I invite you to join me. There will be 10 different collage workshops, each sharing unique ways to bring printing, painting, stamping and stitching (as well as other alternatives) into your collage practice.

The workshops are geared to inspire you and open up new ways of thinking about this exciting medium. The summit is self-paced so you can enjoy working when you have the time. There will also be a Facebook group where you can ask questions and share your work. Once you sign up you'll have access to all of the videos for one year.

What am I teaching? I've heard from other artists about the challenges of color and composition so I've created a workshop on working with limited color palettes and collage templates. I'll show you how to use these tools to strengthen your artwork.

The summit opens on February 27, but I wanted to let you know that early bird pricing begins Monday, February 13 and continues through Sunday, February 26. The early bird price is $49. Swing by there and get the early bird price before the price increases to $US $79.

Want to join us? Just hit the button below labeled Collage Makers Summit. It will take you to all the details and descriptions.

Gelli Printing Workshop at Port Angeles Fine Arts Center

Instructor Hannah Klaus Hunter
Sunday, November 6th | 1-4PM
$75 Members | $85 General Ticket

12 spots available | Ages 12+

We had so much fun at the first workshop, the Arts Center asked me back a second session of the Gelli Printmaking Workshop. Set in the beautiful Esther Webster Gallery, you'll find inspiration in the surrounding sculpture park and from the abundant array of materials I'll be sharing.

Gelli printing is an innovative way to create vibrant, one of a kind prints called monoprints. Using gel plates, acrylic paints and paper, the Gelli printing process allows beginners and advanced art makers alike to produce striking and beautiful works. Many painters use gelli prints to establish a ground for their paintings. Others like me cut them up to use as collage material. Still others love to use them to make cards or handmade books.

You'll learn a variety of different printing techniques and have time to complete at least 1 finished print that you can use in any number of ways.

*If you attended a previous workshop with me or other printmaking classes, you are welcome to come and further your practice and perhaps even learn a few new techniques!

Interwoven is an exhibit by a group of artists who have been meeting for several years to pursue shared questions of making art in our time. Interwoven is comprised of a variety of media, including painting, collage, photography, and sculpture, and approaches to artistic expression.

Participating artists include Lynn Beldner, myself, Joan Jarvis, Rachel Kline, Jamie Madison, Edith Sauer Polonik, Sara Post, and Binuta Sudhakaran.

We warmly invite you to view this exhibit.

Monoprinting Sessions

Monoprinting+with+Hannah+Klaus+Hunter+(1).jpg

10 am - 12:30 pm or 1:30 - 4:00 pm

I've missed the comeraderie of workshops, whether as student or teacher! Zoom is great but being in the presence of other humans is even better. I decided to offer a workshop that would function like an Open Studio. For a minimal fee, people could come, monoprint, enjoy each other's company and exchange ideas. I floated this idea to the Pence Gallery and they wholeheartedly agreed!

Thus, the Monoprinting Sessions. We are offering two different workshops on the same day. Come to one or both, bring your materials, print, ask questions and experience the inspiration that comes from working together with other artists. If this sounds like fun, just press the button below.
